Covid-19 Protocol Updates

Greetings Alexandria Animal Hospital friends!  I hope this finds you and your family healthy.  What a crazy year 2020 has proven to be!  I wanted to take an opportunity to give you an update on our current procedures as it relates to the COVID-19 virus.  I also wish to extend a heartfelt THANK YOU to the overwhelming majority of you who have been so kind to comply with our protocols to help keep you and our staff members safe and healthy.
As you are aware, COVID-19 continues to threaten human health in our area.  We are pleased that we have been able to continue to provide veterinary care to our patients, even if it comes with a few extra precautions.  We continue to offer curbside service to clients who wish to remain in their cars while we care for their pets.  We also ask that you comply with this option, if you have had recent known exposure to the virus.  We assure you that your pet will be cared for and loved on by our staff while visiting the office.

For those wishing to accompany their pet into the office, there will be a brief health and COVID exposure survey that will be reviewed before entry to the building.  We request honest and courteous answers to these questions.  We ask that no more than two people accompany their pet into the building to maintain appropriate social distancing in the smaller exam room space.  Please remember to bring and use a mask or face covering, if you plan to come in with your pet.  We do have a limited number of masks that we can provide, if you happen to leave yours at home.

We continue to monitor any further developments regarding COVID-19 as it relates to infections in our dogs and cats.  To date, it has not yet proven to be a significant or common health risk for our animal friends.  As further information becomes available, we will certainly continue to keep you informed.
